Oasis Studio
Boston, MA
Oasis Studio, a multidisciplinary, collaborative studio
active in the 1980’s, was featured in the Young
Architect’s issue of Progressive
Architecture as an alternative to traditional architectural practice. It
was known for its experimental mix of architects and artists, many of who went
on to distinguished careers, and its exhibitions and lecture series. The
Boston Projects were a series of urban interventions that intended to
animate “forgotten” urban spaces in Boston. The projects included the gateway and
piazza of facades for Boston 2076; First
Night 1987, (co-designer) and Grandfather
Speaks, (designer) a site-specific installation and performance piece.
